Public Contracting & Competitive Bidding Law

Metz, Husband & Daughton regularly represents and consults with clients on public contracting and public bidding matters. Our scope of representation is broad and varied, including client meetings with government officials in advance of the issuance of a Request for Proposal (RFP); reviewing RFPs once issued; attending vendor workshops; proposing changes to RFPs; assisting with or providing counsel during the drafting of responsive proposals; providing counsel when bid protests are under consideration; and handling the litigation of bid protests. Members of the firm have also been closely involved in state contracting issues after bid awards, including negotiation and drafting of leases and contracts.

The firm has extensive experience in the RFP processes involving a broad spectrum of public contracts, including such subject areas as auto emissions testing, health care IT services, student financial aid servicing, investment management services, the state’s prepaid college program, juvenile justice office leases, and genetic testing services.
